New Canon Printers Now With Fingerprint Scanners.Office spending and expenses seem to go outrageously high due to waste. Many experts may have deduced that a lot of the waste may have been through the office photocopier. In order to further reduce this kind of wastage, Canon is introducing a new Canon image Runner series of photocopiers armed with a fingerprint scanner.
The new series of Canon photocopiers from Japan features a Finger Print Authentication Software that was developed by Hitachi Software Engineering for Canon’s MEAP Advance enabled devices. The fingerprint authentication feature will allow office employees authorized to use the new photocopiers as the only ones to do so. This might just help control office wastage and save companies valuable money that can be used to pay for the outrageously high salaries of CEO’s. The new Canon photocopiers with fingerprint scanners is set to be available in Japan on July 8 for 128,000 Japanese Yen.

Canon Debuts imageFORMULA DR High-Speed Scanners for MAC [Canon DR-2510M and DR-2010M With TWAIN Driver]

Canon has made its foray into the world of desktop scanners for Macs with the introduction of two new high-speed business scanners. The DR-2510M and the DR-2010M are both new additions to Canon’s imageFORMULA DR series, and the first in the series to include TWAIN driver that makes them compatible to work with Macs.
Both scanners come bundled with Canon’s CaptureOnTouch software, which allows users to upload or send scanned images directly to email, printers, shared network folders and even to specific applications like iPhoto. As for the speed, the DR-2510M offers color scanning at rates up to 25 single sided pages per minute or 20 double-sided pages for the same duration. The DR-2010M is faster of the two and manages to scan 50 single sided pages a minute, or 40 double-sided just as fast.
Images from both scanners can reach a maximum of 600dpi resolution, and they come with automatic page size detection and text orientation recognition — while the 2510M also has the ability for ultrasonic double feed detection.
Both scanners are Energy Star compatible and also meet the requirements put forward by RoHS and WEEE directives for reduction of hazardous substances and waste products.
Price wise, Canon’s image FORMULA DR-2510M sells at $795, while the DR-2010M is available for only $555.
